For my 60th birthday, this year, my mom surprised me by having my cousin come down here with her daughter and daughter's boyfriend to LA. We went to disneyland. We stayed at the Paradise Pier, Room number 1515, a 3 room suite. We were on our way to Club 33 for a fabulous dinner, when my mom in one of those electric scooters, drove off the curb. She went flying out of it and broke her hip. She is 83. We ended up staying the night, in a hospital in Anaheim waiting, for a transfer to St. Joseph's in Burbank. This hospital almost completely catered to "Disneyland patrons. They came in with Mickey ears on, limping, or with a broken shoulder, or chest pains. It didn't look like Disneyland, for them was the "Happiest" place on earth. My mom is now, resting comfortably in Burbank, with a new ball in her hip joint. She will be in for a couple of days, then to a rehab facility, then on a walker for 6 months. She will not be able to drive for 3 months, so I'll be pretty busy for a while. Needless to say, we never made it to Club 33. But, my cousin, who I insisted on still going to the restaurant, to meet our party, already there, did bring back, to our hotel room, a lamb chop for me to gnaw on. Yum! Anywho. I've been to the Club before, so no biggy. I'm just glad my "Ma" is fine. Pictures of the 3 room suite, to follow soon.
