Paul's memories spurred mine...

The walled city of Radda
A real castle
looking out my window on to the rest of the farm
a large bronze in a small town

Just an ordinary house in a 400 year old town.

The lady looking into the camera, owns   the cafe where we ate her pastries. OMG were they ever delicious.
The Baptistry , in Florence, with the bronze doors.
My window in the second floor of our 400 year old farm house in the midst of a vineyard, in the Chianti region
another walled city
I was looking at my friend Paul's blog, tonight.  Something reminded him of his trip to Italy, in 2005, so he posted  some, as usual, beautiful photos he had taken. It reminded me of my trip to Tuscany in 2008. So, I'm posting some of mine.

Mt. Groarty Cross

On New Year's day, my friend , Cathy and her two adorable dogs, and I took a walk up the hill, from my house to the "Cross".  It's about a 3 mile up and down round trip jaunt. It was the clearest day we had seen in a while. This cross was erected by the city in the mid 1900s.  A lot of young 20 somethings  go up there to drink beer. we see a lot of broken glass, but it looks so pretty glinting in the early morning sun.  Easter Sunday sees  even more people making the pilgrimage up there.  I'm so happy to live in this small mountainy town in So. California.  In the midst of L.A.,  I feel like I'm living in the country.

Another Tuesday, and another Farmer's market

Aren't they gorgeous?
I think I'll  do a  painting of  these.
The vendor said these radishes are really spicy hot.
These radishes are sweeter than the red ones, and have no heat. I like the looks.
Look at these tomatoes, and the "black", and "watermelon" radishes. Nowadays, I love the options we  are given!

Repurposing thrift store finds

Valentine's display at Agoura Antique mart
A cheap uke can make a nice wall hanging.
I took an inexpensive uke purchased at a thrift store. I added some  scrap booking  floral paper to the top of the uke.
I glued a broken rhinestone to cover the sound  hole.

Tuesdays' Farmer's Market

Colors of nature
I work Tuesdays at the Antique Mart, and am so glad because
of the Farmer's market in our parking lot.
Tons of fresh veggies, fruit, and flowers. Great prices.
If you're in the area, come by.
