I'm on a roll.

I bought a pair of  hand painted Italian plaster drum tables.  I've never bought such elegant pieces. I was at the right place at the right time.

I should have opened the door to show the beautiful blue paint inside.

Here's more!

I love these old brown bottles with the clear stoppers.

I also used  old  shoe clips, and rhinestone jewelry pieces.
I had some old bottles and  lots of crystal stoppers, so I thought, why not  put them together.  I decorated some with old keys, and some with stones. I had a good time doing them. It took about 4 hours. Just a great afternoon.

I'm Back...

Don't ask me what these plants are called. I'll have to ask my neighbor.

I love this plant holder,  very 40's looking, so I  played around with the texture of the picture.
We  had a  little cocktail party, and I forgot to send Guy to the store to get flowers, so I went around my neighbor's and our yards ( she always says to pick anything she has, thank God), and picked some green and white stuff. All of the  other colored blooms had faded. So this is what I put together. For some reason everybody commented on them, even the guys.

No Inspiration

Well, my last two posts didn't warrant any comments, so I guess I'm out of inspiration for now. I'm going to take a break, so see ya soon.  Have a good weekend, and those of you near the Carmaggedon area, stay put!

"I've looked at clouds from both sides now..."

I love taking pictures of clouds, because I like painting them. so on the way home from Arizona, last month, these clouds were hanging over Palm Springs. I rarely see clouds over Palm Springs, so I shot them from the car.      Just a funky little post.

A Cool Summer's Drink

Have you ever had Lemoncello? Well, here's a new twist;  Pour a half bottle of Lemoncello into a pitcher of fresh raspberries,  strawberries, lemon slices, and  mint. Stir, let sit for an hour  to infuse the fruit. Add a bottle of Champagne. Pour. Kir royale with a major attitude. Yum.

We were  together for  Fifi's book signing in Agoura Hills, Ca.

Bern's Studio

My best friend Bern and her boyfriend Jim, live in a beautiful Arts and Crafts home in Monrovia. It is on the historical register. They have  been remodeling  in stages. Bern is a fantastic artist, interior designer, gardner, and cook. She has the best parties in the world. We will be dining al fresco, this coming Saturday, and I can't wait. Her menu reads: Watermelon glazed chicken, rum and coke bbq ribs, cabbage slaw, and fruit crepes for dessert. Pictures to follow.
But I digress. The reason for this post is that she is designing an art studio. We are going to paint. Not the studio, but canvases. We've been dreaming about having a studio for over 30 years, and now it's come to fruition. We can't  believe how close we are to realizing our dream.  We have our paints, our brushes, our easels at the ready. It's just a matter of a few tweaks.

I'll be posting pictures of our pictures in the coming months. I for one, hope I'll be worthy of this space.

A lot of beautiful areas to paint. We won't need to go far for
inspiration.

I just love this. Looks like the plants are growing
out of the rock.

Many fruit trees and flowers to paint

Happy Independence Day 2011

Hope you have a safe and fun filled 3 day weekend.

birdies in a cat's mouth.

The babies love insects.

Here is the happy couple taking turns feeding  the chirping babies.
Notice the insect in  the lower left bird's mouth.
Now they even go into the house while we are sitting  under it.
Someone gave us this cat's head birdhouse. We never thought it would actually be home to any  living thing, but it's already been house and home to two families of finches. Here are some pictures.
