LACMA Street Lamp Installation

Outside of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art,
is an antique streetlight installation named
"Urban Light", by artist Chris Burden.
I could stay there all day capturing the different
sunlight angles.  If you've never seen it, grab your camera and  go.
Also showing, right now,
is Mexican Women Artists, featuring the works of Frida Kahlo

Mary and I took a walk ...

shed at the corner of a house
Mary, Henry, and I took a  walk around my neighborhood. My little town, Tujunga, Ca., used to be a weekend fishing and hunting get away.  Many houses, here, are very small (700-900 sq. ft.) . Most of them, now, are  family homes.  The architecture, like most old towns, is all over the place. Enjoy!

Perfect

I met the owner of this house. She mosaic-ed
this path to her front door.

Right next to the little mosaic cottage is this
big beautiful house

Mary, Henry and  her dream house.

The  enchanted house at the end of my street.
It is behind a tall wall, but  very inviting.
I wish  I knew the owner. I'd love to see inside.

Halloween would be so fantastic  here.

We are up in the hills, and I tell you, this was a steep climb.

This  compound was one of the first "Country Inns" in Tujunga.
 Probably around the 20's.
I got to go inside and it was really fabulous.

Hat as Cake

I didn't have anything really cool to put under this cloche, so I took this white hat and "Voila", instant cakelike loveliness!

Downtown Los Angeles revisited

I need to go downtown again.  These pictures are from the last foray.  Maybe this time I'll go to Japan town or China town.  Lots of great stuff to buy, and good food.
Herb case in a Chinese herbalist's store

Natural Viagra ?

remember the ads for Pearl Cream?

Just  one of the  great "Mercados"

I love this building

Also love these old hotel signs

The seedy side of town.

Fabulous old English Tudor style printing  shop,
The building is still open.

Happy Twisted Valentine's Day.

I missed the deadline to enter a Valentine's art show. The show was yesterday. The deadline was Jan. 31st. yada, yada, yada. Anyway, I guess I'll try and sell it in my booth.  I took the bellows off an old  camera, added a 3-d eyeball from some fun  glasses. Then I added the silver plated heart and the letter U.  I ,of course, decoupaged the face of the bellows with my vintage music sheets. Lately, I've been using the old sheets a lot.

It was a good merchandising day. Got everything done and even got to go home early.

I was robbed

Today, while I was working in my booth, a young man came up and engaged me in some  conversation. He was acting a little strange, but I didn't  really think about it until he turned around, grabbed my Iphone  just 3 feet away from me and ran. I chased after him and he jumped into a waiting van. I got their license plate number and called the police. They came out and   took a report. I had many witnesses who saw the  guy in the store and the vehicle outside.  Not a good day for the thieves. I was lucky it was only an Iphone, but I'm pissed off that this guy had the need to come in to a crowded store and steal  right out in the open(from me), and who knows who else.  I took care of what I needed to do, so everything is ok.
This dress has nothing to do with this post.

My Friend Mary's Debut

Mary is not a  "New " dealer at Agoura Antique Mart. She shared  the baby booth with Maria, AAM'S owner, for  a while, until yesterday, when
she moved in to her own booth.   She has fantastic  taste and  design sense. Most of the  furniture is painted  by her. The  prices are fabulous too. We hope you can come, soon, and visit Mary's great new space.  If you'd like  to know prices, please call Agoura Antique Mart at 818-706-8366.  We're open 7 days a week.
